Gerner & Kearns, Co., L.P.A. hires Director of Business Development & Strategic Planning
Gerner & Kearns, Co., L.P.A. (G&K) is pleased to announce the appointment of Bernard J. LoVerde, Jr. as the firm’s Director of Business Development & Strategic Planning where he will be focused on enhancing the firm’s market share, strategic relationships and alliances with respect to all of G&K’s default practice groups, as well as its traditional mortgage banking and settlement services practice groups and operations. Mr. LoVerde will also have a similar role with respect to G&K’s affiliated companies, namely its REO operations, Gerner REO and PRISM Title & Closing Services, its default and vendor management entity, GateKeeper Default Management, and its asset management affiliate, TurnKey Asset Management Solutions.
LoVerde brings years of experience in default to G&K, most significantly being his service as an Officer, Vice President and Director of the Default Services Division of Public Abstract Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of First American Title Insurance Company of New York where he focused on default title operations management, loss mitigation, foreclosure, REO, vendor management and outsourcing relationships both within New York and on a national basis through First American’s National Default Title Services Division. Most recently, LoVerde was the Managing Director of a consultancy practice that specialized in operations, portfolio risk management, vendor management and business development/relationship management for various default law firms, mortgage bankers and servicers, title companies, outsources and settlement service companies on a national level. His other experience has included serving as a senior executive of two national settlement services/title companies, where he was responsible for the formation of a default operation at one and a commercial operation at the other (a subsidiary of First American Title Insurance Company of New York), a Director of a privately owned $500M+ real estate holding company and as a senior executive of an NYSE/NASD member investment baking firm that specialized in corporate venture capital and residential/commercial real estate debt and equity, financings with his responsibilities being in operations, compliance and relationship management. LoVerde studied Finance and Marketing at the Rochester Institute of Technology and was selected as one of 22 out of 14,600 (top 1/10th of 1%) U.S. employees of First American Title Insurance Company to be invited by Executive Management to the company’s Advanced Leadership Skills Program in 2004.
