David E. Gerner was licensed as an attorney in 1983 and established the law firm of Gerner & Kearns Co., L.P.A. in 1987. Mr. Gerner concentrates his practice in the areas of real estate law and mortgage banking law, with an emphasis on title curative matters, title insurance, residential and commercial closings, commercial and banking litigation, foreclosure, bankruptcy, eviction, property management and REO transactions. Mr. Gerner has been certified by the Ohio State Bar Association as a Specialist in Residential, Commercial, Business and Industrial real estate law. He is also AV rated by Martindale Hubbell which is their highest rating for both legal ability and ethical standards.
Mr. Gerner is REO Designated Counsel for Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac) and Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae), a Certified Closing Attorney for the United States Small Business Administration (SBA) and an Approved Closing Attorney for the United States Marshals Service. He serves as a court appointed Registered Land Examiner in Ohio. Mr. Gerner also serves as a frequent lecturer, expert witness, arbitrator and mediator on real estate legal matters.
